About Me...
Art has always played an important role in my life. It was the go-to activity of my childhood and my favorite class in school. When I headed off to college, I did not foresee being an artist as a viable occupation, so I went into education. I was planning on majoring in art and minoring in education, but my career counselor advised against it, stating that art budgets are always the first to get cut. Yet over the years, I have found various ways to be creative: scrapbooking, dabbling in watercolors, drawing with oil pastel cray pas, trying my hand at sewing & knitting, and of course arts-infused lesson plans.

I was blessed to be able to take the 2021-2022 academic year off from teaching. I spent that time diving deep into myself and reconnecting with my inner artist. After years of wishing but never making it happen, I have a dedicated art space in my home where my easel is always at the ready. Living on John's Island (just on the outskirts of Charleston, SC) with my husband of 20+ years and my 5th grade daughter, I find the natural splendor of the Lowcountry awe-inspiring. There is so much beauty to paint, but not enough time to get it all on canvas.
